Back-to-School Family Movie Night at the library!

Get ready to kick off the school year with some cozy fun! The Sumner Public Library is excited to invite families to our Back-to-School Family Movie Night, featuring the brand new Lilo & Stitch movie! Saturday, August 23 and the movie starts at 5:00.

We’re transforming the library into a magical movie theater for one night only! The whole family is welcome to snuggle up in pajamas, bring blankets and pillows, and enjoy a relaxing night under the stars (well, under the ceiling—but we’re bringing the big screen magic indoors!).

Free popcorn will be served, and the movie will be projected on a giant screen right inside the library.

Whether you’re a longtime fan of Stitch or just meeting him for the first time, this is the perfect way to celebrate the start of the school year together. Don’t miss this fun, free, family event!

1000 Books Before Kindergarten Sign-Up Night: Tuesday, August 26 from 4:00 to 6:00PM.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten program encourages parents to read to their child from the first moments of their life on, encouraging a love for reading and learning as they grow.

All pre-kindergarten aged children, and their parents, are encouraged to participate in this great program. Children are encouraged to read in 100 book intervals with incentives for each 100-book milestone reached.

Caregivers and children are welcome to stop in to learn more and sign up for this fun and rewarding program.
